I really needed a nice ink after yesterday’s disappointment.
Today’s door! *drumroll*….

Day 19’s ink is called “Silent Night.”
I tested, as per usual, using a borosilicate glass dip pen in a Maruman Mnemosyne notebook.
What a relief. What an incredible relief.
So this is, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary ink. It’s a dark blue, almost a blue-black, but with a lot of gray in there. It’s somewhere between steel blue and midnight blue. However, for as dark as it is, the writing looks different from start to finish, and the splotch shows off some amazing shading.
This is lovely to write with. Really rich-feeling. Just the right amount of flow, though I had to scribble to get the splotch right. Also, even though it seems like a wet ink, it dries really fast.

And I don’t know what it is about this ink, but Monte was VERY interested in it.

This one’s a winner, and not because it’s got any spectacular features. It’s a winner because it feels like velvet when I’m writing, and kind of looks like that too. It appeals to the goth in me as well as the texture-sensitive part of me. Win win, all around. We’ll see if I’ll want a full bottle, though.
Next up: Day 20!
(How are we already so far into the month??)
