Irises have been my favorite flower for decades. I love the fact that they bloom semi-wild in Buffalo Bayou Park. Tapley Tributary was lush with them earlier this month.

Stamens. Pistils.

So it might not LOOK like a macro…. But I was at least 7 feet away from the plant when I took this. *brain-splody* Again, no tripod. Hand-held with digital zoom and auto-focus. Just a little contrast and brightness tweaking in Photoshop. Next up – my fave flower.

I got this new camera specifically because it has an amazing zoom lens and the sample photos didn’t look as though there was as much artifacting as other digital zooms.
